Lower Similkameen Indian Band wants B.C. to pause new mining claims in Ashnola watershed

Lower Similkameen Indian Band (LSIB) says the province has stunted conservation efforts in the Ashnola watershed by not pausing mining claims in an area of southern B.C., despite the First Nation declaring it an Indigenous Protected Area in 2022.
